IUSB will be hosting their Green Michiana on Saturday April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location:

 Administration Building (Grille)
 Indiana University South Bend

As part of a year-long series of events related to Indiana University
South Bend’s campus theme: Sustainable Communities, IUSB is hosting a
sustainability fair and recycling drive to raise public awareness of

  •  local “green” businesses
  •  alternatives in construction, transportation, and gardening
  •  ways to reduce waste and recycle more
  •  ways to encourage our political leaders to support green innovation in this region.

This will mark the finale to a week-long recycling drive for plastic bags and styrofoam (an expansion of the very successful BagFest last year in which over 70,000 plastic bags were collected).  IUSB will also provide information on the range of materials that can be recycled in our area.

Vendors, table talks, recycling centers and local “green” organizations will be present to engage, enlighten, entertain and energize.

Local musicians will also be on hand to provide entertainment.

This event is free and open to the public

Hope to see you there!
